  • World Team pitching coach in the 2000 MLB Futures game in Atlanta
  • 6 minor league post season appearances with 3 championship rings (Charlotte AAA '99, Birmingham AA '93, South Bend A '89)
  • World Series ring in 2005 as the White Sox Pitching Coordinator
  • Pitching coach in 3 minor league All-Star games...(Midwest League '89, Florida State League '92 and the 2001 Triple AAA All-Star game in Indianapolis)
  • 3 time winter ball Pitching Coach in Venezuela
  • Coached/done clinics in 10 different countries

  • 26 Year Major League Career (1963 - 1989)
  • Three 20-win seasons
  • Cy-Young Award runner-up (1977 & 1979)
  • Four-time Major League All-Star (1968, 1978, 1979 & 1980)
  • Injured during the 1974 season, permanently damaging his ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his pitching arm. Tommy underwent a new surgery that is now credited for saving the career of many players and known as "Tommy John Surgery"
  • Won Hutch Award (1975) for honor and courage on and off the field
  • Awarded National League Comeback Player of the Year (1976) after returning from surgery
  • Retired in 1989 with a 3.34 ERA, 2,245 strike outs and 760 games played.
  • With 288 Major League wins (164 wins after his surgery), Tommy has more wins than any other pitcher who has not been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
